Sandra Crawford

As a young girl, Sandra often sat on the floor of her mother’s office, pecking out cheerful letters to “Mummy” on an old Underwood typewriter. Coming from a long line of letter writers, she soon demonstrated a natural ability to lift even the saddest heart with a simple note of encouragement or a heart-felt poem.

Growing up in an era of rapidly advancing technology, Sandra put her writing on hold to pursue a career in computer programming. After college, she worked as a systems support analyst for one of the largest wholesale distributing companies in North America. She later joined an educational software development firm as a trainer, where she discovered how much she enjoyed helping and teaching others.

In 1994, Sandra’s passion for sailing took her to the Caribbean, where she worked for a prominent yacht charter company for nearly four years before returning home to Vancouver. After realizing that the pleasures of the world did not fill the emptiness she felt, she found a love like no other in a relationship with Jesus Christ.

In 2002 Sandra left the corporate world once again to enroll in Youth With A Mission’s six-month Discipleship Training School in Kona, Hawaii. After completing the two-month missions “field assignment” portion of the course in the Philippines, she returned to Canada with a new heart for missions and a desire to teach others about the life-changing power of Jesus’ love.

Today Sandra is once again working at the keyboard, in between her duties as an administrative assistant, bookkeeper, and daughter. She lives with her father in the lovely community of Deep Cove in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

“Why do good people suffer? This has been a question asked of God since the ancient days of Job. While there are many answers to this question one is simply to make a way, to light a path through the darkness that others can follow. Such was the path that Job forged, and countless others that have endured and overcome suffering without loosing hope or faith. Another such trail blazer is Sandra Crawford. Sandra shares her journey through the valley of the shadow of death named “cancer” with complete, disarming honesty, and yet each page is filled with life, hope and healing as she finds and invites us in to a new depth of relationship with God in the process. For anyone touched by cancer or any other life-threatening disease this book will be a life-line to hope. "
